Listen to this engine - you won't believe this is a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

New Zealander Gregg Hamilton always wanted a V8, manual, rear-drive muscle car. After he moved to the United States, he realized this was the best place in the world to own one.
After becoming a fan of the movie Smokey and the Bandit, Hamilton settled on the Pontiac Trans Am. The Pontiac Trans Am was a specialty upgrade package for the Firebird.

According to Petrolicious, Hamilton had years of experience of working with cars. He worked with some of the best World Rally Championship teams, and in his Trans Am, he put the tricks he had learned to good use.
You know you have to be a little bit nuts about owning your own V-8 and customizing it when you fly to Alabama to pick up a car you bought on EBay sight unseen. That’s enthusiasm at its best!
This beauty has come a long way too. Just take a look at her. Check out the custom work he put into her, from the bodywork (which is wider), to a custom computer for the engine. You can see he put his heart and soul into this Trans Am.
With the highly modified engines of today, it's difficult to know if this Trans Am could give the state troopers of Alabama a run for their money like The Bandit did, but perhaps Hamilton wouldn’t mind giving it a go. Just once, maybe.
